Lady Gaga needs her own section. Unfortunately, the producers chose not to televise her dance recording wins. She was shafted.
Miley Cyrus, in Herve Leger. OK, I struggled putting her on my faves list. I find her annoying but I have to admit, I love this dress and for once I think she dressed her age and perfectly for the event at hand.
Mary J. Blige, in Gucci. Love this color on her!
Carrie Underwood, in Edition by Georges Chakra
Beyonce, in Stephane Rolland. I love the Aztec shapes on it.
Sheryl Crow, in Bottega Veneta. Kind of plain, but I thought it was pretty. Not sure if she can pull of those earrings.
I think you articulated it perfectly. It really was a "VMA" approach. Thanks for that insight.
ReplyDeleteAs for the fashion, I was underwhelmed. Lady Gaga was totally on target, and that's the only thing I can say positive. So I shall stop there :)
My Faves: Lea Michele, Rihanna, Carrie Underwood (loved her hair!), and this one may be controversial but I kinda liked Pink's weird red carpet dress. I will agree with you on Miley's dress however it's time for all of that hair to go!

P.S. That was the worst Grammy show EVER, even with the hour long break for Desperate Housewives.
Gaga's outfits were so...Gaga, but she does it well. Although I'm surprised she didn't put someone's eye out with that headpiece.

ReplyDeleteI totally agree with you about Miley. I'm not a fan of hers at all, but even I have to admit she looked pretty cute at the Grammys. That dress was perfect for her.

Didn't the whole show feel so frenetic? I don't enjoy the Grammys as much as I like the oscars or even the globes. I'm not a square or a communist but they just always feel so scattered and all over the place with ridiculous music mashup performances that seem better in theory than in actual performance. I never feel fulfilled. Is that wrong? Does that make me a bad person? What? It does?! Well how dare you!
