What great selections and a refreshing idea for a blog write up. I am going to spend the rest of my afternoon watching these incredible opening credits and maybe from this, I will figure out to watch this evening! Love these!
ReplyDeleteCouldn't agree more; all excellent choices! Two of my other favorites, both not surprisingly associated with David Fincher films: the opening credit sequence in the remake of The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo (one of the final films I saw at the AMC Loews Harvard Square 5) and the one used in Seven (masterfully set the tone of one of the most brilliant thrillers I'll ever see).
ReplyDeleteHitchcock always had some of the best opening credits. I agree with Dan, The Girl with the Dragon Tattoo blew me away, especially when I saw it in the theatre, it makes a huge difference in this case. I also like the opening titles of Reservoir Dogs, L.A. Confidential, and I always enjoy the ones from Scorsese's films like Raging Bull, Taxi Driver (especially that song!) and Mean Streets. Oh, and the Bond films.
ReplyDeleteGreat post, and I love that website!
