OK. Though it was one of TV's more daring moments this year and despite my love for Carrie Underwood, Sound of Music Live! was a bit awkward.
The only scene I always fast forwarded on my worn VHS copy of the 1965 film was Peggy Wood's (dubbed by Margery McKay) "Climb Ev'ry Mountain."
However on the broadcast, Audra McDonald completely slayed the song--bringing a levy of emotion and grit to it. She was incredible.
